This article will provide a summary of the Quickbooks Online (QBO) integration and provide you information that will help you get started with enabling the integration.
Quickbooks Online integration is now available!
We built this integration to help your financial data flow seamlessly from Pushpay to Quickbooks Online so that you can focus more on the activities that help your team lead and grow - not on the tedious data entry tasks that used to come with managing contributions.
What does the integration do?
When you set up the integration, you’ll be able to define how you want your Pushpay giving allocated to your Accounts - and optionally - Classes and Locations, in Quickbooks Online.
Once you enable the integration, we’ll roll up your Pushpay giving into subtotals and create Journals for you in Quickbooks Online, which will allocate your giving automatically.
We create these journals based off the settlements that will be deposited into your bank account, so reconciliation will become a whole lot easier.
What giving will be sent through?
You'll have control over this during setup, but we currently support:
- Card & ACH settlements for US ZipZap customers (if you can see settlements via our Reconciliation feature, then you'll be able to send these to Quickbooks Online)
- Check Deposit settlements
- From June, you'll be able to send Recorded giving through to Quickbooks Online via our new Batch Entry feature.
What can I expect to see in Quickbooks Online?
Generally, journals for Card & ACH settlements will appear a day or two after you see the settlement appear in the Reconciliation screen in Pushpay. Initially, it may take a couple of days for settlements to start showing up as we only send through giving that is received after you enable the integration.
This is an example of what a journal entry will look like:
Do I need to do anything in Quickbooks Online?
If you have an automatic bank connection setup, all you need to do is match the journal to the bank item from the Banking screen in Quickbooks Online.
