What is Account Updater?
Over time, cardholder information can become outdated as cards expire or are lost or stolen. Outdated information can cause payment delays and lost revenue. Account Updater solves these problems by automatically updating cardholder information which prevents transactions from being declined.
How does it work?
When Account Updater is first enabled, all vaulted Visa, Mastercard, and Discover credit card information will be sent by our card vault partner to the card-issuing banks. If the issuing bank has opted to participate, they will respond with the new card number and/or expiration date. Vaulted cards will automatically be updated with the new details.
After the initial update, card updates will be requested on the 1st and 15th of each month.
|Please Note: Account Updater doesn’t help when someone has insufficient funds available on their card, nor when their account is temporarily suspended for late payment.|
What other benefits are there?
The Account updater service prevents interruptions to your recurring payments.
What card types will be updated?
The Account Updater service updates Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards issued by participating banks in the USA and Canada.
I'm an organization based in New Zealand or Australia. What happens for me?
The Account Updater is not supported in your country at this time. Cardholders will continue to be emailed reminders that their card information is expiring with a request to update their credit card details.
